Bookham

OPEN
GARDENS

Bookham Open Gardens is a Bookham Community Association Event.

Sunday 23rd June 10am - 5pm

Old Barn Hall, Church Road KT23 3PQ

for tickets, garden maps and refreshments, plant sale and craft stalls on the day. Or you can buy your tickets in advance - see below.

Do come and join in this annual event where typically over 700 people enjoy going round the village, meeting friends and neighbours along the way. This year we have 11 varied and attractive private gardens to share with you, all but two opening for the first time.  We are also extending out into Fetcham so two of the gardens are at the far end of Lower Road – but we promise you they’ll be worth the journey.

Polesden Lacey Infants School, Manor House School, Little Bookham Allotments and The Grange’s Walled Garden will be opening for us too.

Our open gardens come in all shapes and sizes, from the formal to more laid-back planting, and some with wildlife-friendly planting and habitats.  You’ll see fruit and vegetable plots in some of the gardens too.  Plenty of inspiration for all!

Find out more about individual gardens in the programme which will be available at our ticket outlets from 1st of June or download below:

Since there’s no minibus service, why not cycle around, share a car, or just see how far you get walking?  As you walk between gardens, do look out for beautifully decorated Blue Hearts, indicating a verge of lovely flowers to attract pollinators that are so important for biodiversity.

Contactless payment will again be available at the Old Barn Hall and on Village Day.  If you’re paying in cash, we’d appreciate if you can find the exact change, particularly at the individual gardens.

The charge includes admission to all gardens and a programme with map and garden details.  If you are on Facebook, please ‘Like’ our ‘Bookham Open Gardens’ page and share it with your friends.  You will find pictures from previous years to inspire you.

We would also love to hear from anyone who could spare an hour or two to help on the day with providing a cake, or serving refreshments, selling tickets or stewarding at the gardens.  Without our kind garden openers and our band of willing volunteers, the day would never happen!

About Bookham Open Gardens

Open Gardens Day raises money for the upkeep of our historic Old Barn Hall, and since we started we have raised over £80,000 for vital maintenance.  We will be serving our normal delicious home-baked cakes, rolls and drinks throughout the day at the Hall.  Plants should be available to buy at a number of the gardens.

To see more gardens and keep up to date, please visit our Facebook page.
